Social Media Rules

1. BE KIND AND COURTEOUS

We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. Gossip is a human flaw and cliques often occur in groups. Let's don't be those folks. Be gracious even when someone does not share your beliefs.

2. MEDICAL ADVICE SHOULD COME FROM DOCTORS

You are invited to share your experience with medical management. You may also share peer reviewed published resources about medical management. Please do not be prescriptive about how others manage their care. Sharing your experience is ok, giving others medical advice is not. Don't take medical advice from anyone online, especially in a social media setting. Talk to your physician before following advice outside their purview.

3. PROTECT OUR YOUNG

Do not contact underage participants by private message, by email, or phone. Do not try to 'Friend' them outside the private group. Do not ask them for personal information. We have a Discord group where young people can connect with peers. The safety of our young and/or more vulnerable members is of utmost importance. As an organization, we have adopted a Safeguarding Policy as an indication of due diligence.

4. FRIENDSHIP RULES

Members sometimes have opportunities to meet in person. If someone asks you to arrange to meet and you do not wish to do so, it is your right and your responsibility to say no. Do not feel obliged, and do not assume that membership here is a substitute for safety vetting. You have the right to block/unfriend anyone harassing you and reporting them to [email protected].

5. RESPECT EVERYONE’S PRIVACY

Being part of this group requires trust on all sides. Authentic, expressive discussions or photos add value to our group but must be considered private. Anything shared in the group stays in the group. Privacy is a serious issue - breaking that trust will result in immediate removal from the Facebook group and possibly revoke membership.

6. NO PROMOTIONS OR FUNDRAISING

Fundraising for anything other than the K-T Support Group is not allowed, including GoFundMe and social media "party" type MLM sales. Spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.

7. DON’T BLOCK THE ADMINISTRATORS

Don't block administrators of this group. We will find out, and it will result in your removal.
